Goodbyes are Never Easy and my Friends Just Made it Harder

Leaving loved ones for an extended period of time is never easy, and on Friday those closest to me made it even harder by throwing me a surprise going away party.

I am pretty good at picking up on hints but somehow my friends managed to keep it a surprise until very close to the end. And though it may not have been an exact surprise, I am so grateful and humbled by everything they did to put this party together.

It was all very cute. They rented a condo downtown with a gorgeous view of the Toronto skyline and decorated the apartment with balloons and a banner that read "Au revoir". They also had a cake made with the Toronto and Paris skylines and a plane travelling between the two.

Although there is so much to miss about Toronto, they are the reason it is so hard to say Goodbye.
